Some users reported that the "Check for update" command does not report that a newer release is available on QAP website. The "Check for update" command is available from the QAP "Customize" window "Help" menu or can be executed automatically when you launch if you enable the option in "Options, General" section.
On some user's systems, forcing the use of the Internet protocol TLS 1.2 in Windows "Internet Options" solved the issue. This change cannot be done by QAP. It has to be done by users on their system. Here is a quick procedure that should solve the issue:
1) In Internet Explorer, open " Tools -> Internet Options" and select the "Advanced" tab. Other methods to open this dialog box are
described here.
2) In the "Advanced" tab, make sure the "Use TLS 1.2" is checked and that "Use TLS 1.1" is unchecked.
3) Restart your PC to make this change effective.
The next time a new QAP version will be released, you should see a dialog box like this:
Note 1: Until this command works for you, another method to stay informed of a new release is to register to the QAP Forum and
subscribe to the "QAP Releases" section.
Note 2: If you still experience issues with this command after you made the "Use TLS 1.2" change, please contact me. We could run some diagnostic code on your system to find out what could cause the issue.
