  Finally, something new! Previous releases included only internal changes. But this one includes a complete revamping of the Options window and a new menu bar. The new Options dialog box gives me more flexibility and make it much easier for me to add new options. Feel free to comment. There is certainly room for improvements. Also, you will notice a new menu bar at the top of the Settings window. For now, only the "Options" sub menu is completely developed. But, in future releases, many of the buttons in the Settings window will be replaced (or doubled) with their equivalent in the menu bar. Also, I will review the QAP menu in the Notification zone (Tray menu).
  
  
  Version ALPHA: 9.9.0.6 (2019-02-28)
  - first alpha release with visible feature changes
   
  Options
  - convert Options data structure using OOP approach (class)
  - replace the tabs Options dialog box with sepearate dialog boxes for 14 groups of options: "General", "Settings Window", "Menu Icons", "Menu Appearance", "Popup Menu", "Popup Hotkeys", "Alternative Menu Features Hotkeys", "File Managers", "Snippets", "User Variables", "Database" and "Advanced Options" sub menu with "Menus Advanced Options", "Launch Advanced Options" and "Various Advanced Options"
  - in Options group dialog box, implement "Save" and "Cancel" buttons with cancel validation if user close the window with unsaved changes
  - add to the Options groups some values that were only in the quickaccesspopup.ini file before
  - make the "Options" QAP Feature open a menu with options groups
  - add option "Align reminders to the right" (default true) in Menu Appearance group to right align shortcut and hotstrings reminders in menus (instead of left align between parenthesis
   
  Settings window and Menu bar
  - add a menu bar to the Settings window with submenus: "File", "Insert", "Favorite", "Tools", "Options" (the only submenu completely developed for now) and "Help"
  - remove the "Options" button and label in Settings window
   
  Various
  - when QAPconnect is selected in FileManagers group, add a "Refresh list" button to reload the applications list from the QAPconnect.ini file
  - fix two Windows 7 Special Folders initialization commands causing a runtime error
  - merge changes from regular release v9.4.1.4 and v9.4.1.5

  Hello Jean,
  the new Options structure may be fine for adding new features but its hard to browse.
  I would like an Option tree on the left and the content on the right of the screen.
  That makes it much easier to browse and change settings.
  Have a look on the Total Commander Configuration screen to see what I mean.

  With respect to the new Options menu:
  1. I'm sure you'll make some refinements, but as it stands now, the options would be less discoverable for new users.
  2. It might be tough, but it would be nice if the option dialog boxes were not modal. Then switching from one option set to another would be faster.
  3. Do you plan to add icons to the labels for some of the menu items?
  
  In genearal, QAP is fantastic and I'm sure all power users love how it can be customized so significantly. It's amazing how you have combined that flexibility with default settings that make it immediately useful for newbies. But if you want to move more novice users to the power user level, I think options need to be more easily found. In general Microsoft Office applications are not great examples of UX design, but the recent addition of "Tell me what you want to do" is very helpful.

  AHK user interface tools does not allow to build "paged" windows like the TC one. The only way I know to achieve this is to put all controls on the same window and hide/unhide only those of the selected group. Not very convenient for me.
  
  And there is no "vertical tab" component in AHK that would allow to put many tabs without risking to have two (or more) rows of tabs at the top as in the previous layout.
  
  What I can look for is to "fake" a navigation bar like TC by making all Options groups windows the same size and add in each of them an identical series of buttons on the left side to switch from one window/group to the other.

  I had a similar comment on the other thread. I'll work on it.

  What I don't like with non modal windows is that they can easily disappear under other windows and be forgotten with unsaved changes.

  I had the idea but did not research for it.
