  I have been a keyword launcher (now outdated) user for many years.
  Looking for a new tool (that might offer more than just keyword launching), I am not sure if the "Hotstring" feature of QAP can act as a keyword launcher.
  After studying the documentation and forum threads it gives me the picture that the basic Hotstring functions are derived from the Snippets idea which requires always a client application in which I type my (Hotstring) text. So no Hotkey+Keyword functionality. Am I correct?

  Hotstring were first implemented to launch snippets. But they can also be used to launch applications, documents or folders.
  
  Could you describe what your keyword launcher was doing that you can't do with QAP?

  Well, basically
  1. Press a Hotkey to get a small text input window on the screen.
  2. Start typing my "Hotstring" command and get "find-as-you type" suggestions for existing commands (prioritized on recent usage).
  3. Select a suggestion or press return to run the most frequently used command out of the suggestions.
  
  And to be honest, I have not yet installed QAP.     That is probably one of my next weekend tasks.
  
  I am still in the investigation phase but in the existing QAP documentation I couldn't really find an answer to that question.
  
  There are a lot of attractive    features in QAP I and I might decide to use both, QAP and a new keyword launcher.

  I don't think QAP will completely replace your previous app. But I guess you could like it anyway :-)

  There is the Snippet Quick Add feature that is not documented yet (updating the knowledge base is an ongoing task...). This feature is added at the top of the My Snippets default menu.

  Yes you were right. I like QAP. Really solid work. Happy to make a donation.
  As I am still a little spoiled from my former keyword launcher (no, Snippets couldn't to it), I have chosen http://keypirinha.com/ in parallel to QAP, but I am only using the most basic features. Maybe you use the great Corona boredom to think about a light weight keyword launcher in QAP. At least for me keywords are much more intuitive than keyboard shortcuts. If so, I am happy to contribute my very basic use cases for that.

  there might be others (with different priorities) who can contribute, so we should have this Keyword Launcher discussion here in the forum.
  As I said I never made it above Ctrl-C, Ctrl-X, or Ctrl-V with keyboard shortcuts and prefer more intuitive keywords.
  
  My current "light" use case with the tool mentioned above is
  - I put Windows links to very frequently used programs, websites or folders into one folder "My K-Apps" (easier to maintain than configuring a tool).
  - The names of the links are my keywords (e.g. "mail" for my currently favored email client)
  - I restricted the search space of the keyword tool to just this folder (if I want more I would use Windows Start).
  - The launcher tool learns with each launch and after a couple of launches "m" or "ma" gets me the desired result "mail" on top and I just press ENTER.
  
  Well, how can this possibly be combined with QAP?
  (1) Just have a QAP keyword window popping up, using a similar "My K-Apps" folder approach to configure the items to launch.
  (2) Or use existing QAP Menu entries as keywords launching the configured application, website, folder or document.
  
  Solution (2) would prevent double configuration effort (links in folder parallel to QAP menu).
