My last keyboard had 123 or more keys and I had a bunch of batch files bound to different keyboard key shortcuts. I just bought an 87 key Mechanical Keyboard, so, I lost about 40 keys or so :o(
Not only does QAP allow me to put all my batch files in one easy to access location, with instant access, in one menu -- but it allows me to bind an execution sound to it and to provide a custom icon... utterly fantastic. Not only that, but almost all of my batch files aren't even needed because almost everything you could ever want in a popup menu is already included right in QAP. Another benefit of this solution, is that I don't have to remember all the keyboard key shortcuts to all the .bat files and commands -- since they're all in one menu with the name and icon.
For the life of me I couldn't figure out how to script SLEEP mode (it always forced Hibernate no matter what I did). But QAP's SLEEP and HIBERNATE work perfectly on Windows 10.
COOL THINGS I LOVE ABOUT THIS SOFTWARE:
I love the [CTRL] key double press option to launch the menu (and especially the ability to bind it to Left CTRL or Right CTRL); brilliant!
- FYI To do this: OPTIONS > POPUP MENU > OPEN MAIN MENU WHEN PRESSING CTRL + CTRL
I love that you have the option “if the app is already running activate it” – This is fantastic for a few system tray apps that I have running (Logitech Mouse, i-Drive Backup, etc) which won’t launch the main interface without coding like this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\IDriveWindows\id_win.exe" /s -- Now it's super simple to launch these programs in their full state.
- FYI To do this: ADD > APPLICATION > CHECK "IF THE APPLICATION IS ALREADY RUNNING, ACTIVATE IT..."
I really like the full control over icon size (and that I can add an icon to absolutely anything) -- I'm using huge icons because I don't have that many items in my menu and I'm an icon junky.
- FYI To do this: OPTIONS > MENU ICONS > MENU ICONS SIZE
Finally, I love that you can auto populate menu shortcuts (i.e. 1, 2, 3...) to launch the items; again -- just brilliant. Beautiful FORM and very efficent FUNCTION.
- FYI To do this: OPTIONS > MENUS APPEARANCE > DISPLAY NUMERIC MENU SHORTCUTS
Thanks so much Jean, software is a life saver! I sent you a donation and am very grateful for this incredible solution.
I just installed the program, so it's going to evolve for me, but here’s a screenshot so far:
