  Hi all!
  
  I'm brand new here, having just found QAP as a possible solution to a problem that's been bugging me for years.
  I want to be able to have a folder on my desktop (or wherever), containing a number of program shortcuts.  When I click on that folder, I'd like it to expand into a menu, showing all the shortcuts contained in the folder.  Not just opening the folder, but like a popup menu, similar to what is done with app groups on an Android phone.
  I realize it's a fairly thin difference between opening a folder, and having a folder become a menu, but that's what I want, and it seems so easy, but clearly not.
  
  Anyway, it seems that QAP has something very similar to this functionality!  If I'm understanding the documentation correctly, if I add folder of shortcuts to QAP, and mark it as a 'live folder', it should become a menu, correct?  All I'm seeing is that it opens the folder, the same as if I double-clicked on it.  I get the same behavior from selecting the regular 'folder' option in QAP.  Am I doing something wrong here, or is there a bug?
  
  I'm currently testing on a Windows 10 Pro VM, but I will be migrating to my Win11 Pro desktop if we can work this out.

  I read that thread, but it appears to be the opposite of my issue. The poster seems to be implying that he wants the live folder to do what mine is actually doing, which is simply open the folder rather than open as a menu of items.  But perhaps I'm not understanding, since I'm not very familiar with the software?
  In any case, I don't see any sort of solution...

  What you describe is the Taskbar Toolbars (or simply Toolbars) found in Windows 10. To use it, you would right-click on the taskbar → Toolbars → New Toolbar… → then select a folder, which would then appear as an expandable menu directly in the taskbar. Unfortunately, Microsoft removed this feature in Windows 11. If you want similar functionality in Win 11, I read that the third-party TaskbarDynamic can partially replicate it.
  
  But I would first recommend giving a try to QAP Live Folders. If a folder contains Windows shortcuts, it will turn this folder into a submenu with all the shortcuts as menu items ready to launch an app, open a folder, etc.

  This is exactly what I expect it to do, based on the description, but that's not what happens.
  When I create a live folder link in QAP from a folder of shortcuts, all it does is open the folder. It's the same as if I had simply double-clicked that same folder on the desktop.

  I think I've got what's missing. In this case, the Windows Shortcuts are considered as documents, not folders. Check the "Include documents" in the lower part of the "Live Folder Options" tab in the favorite's settings. I'll review the documentation about that.

  PS: And if you adopt QAP, you may decide at some point to convert your Windows shortcuts to QAP favorites. You can do it easily using the "Favorites, Add Multiple Favorites" dialog box. Select "Folder" and the folder containing your shortcuts. QAP will import the target, start in and icon from the shortcut's properties.
