I am just experimenting but liking the direction. I am using a utility HotkeyP to remap keys across my OS to streamline.
I have remapped ctrl+O (open) so it does the following

1.calls ctrl+o
2.Centers the current window
3.calls QAP

So when I hit ctrl+o in any app I have all my quick shortcuts waiting for me. I don't use Explorer but the same workflow could apply. e.g.. hit win+e for explorer and have all the QAP shortcuts already there hiding all the windows failures for navigation. I am using the option to pin QAP to the top left of the current window.

I have ignored the Quick Access nonsense in Windows for years, and now in 2026 - I still see they haven't fixed such dumb UX flaws.

1.Drag and drop is enabled, so if you make the slightest error clicking a quick access link, you could drag and drop it onto the neighbouring folder.
2.As they are not really links, you can't rename them, so if I did use it, I could have multiple links saying 'Renders' with no way to change it.

So you really need QAP or similar utility just for safety!
