thanks again for your great tool, I've been using it for a few years.
QAP portable install v12.1.1
My file manager is Directory Opus, but I think it's unrelated.
A rather stupid issue has been bothering me on my Win 10 install. Sometimes my mouse would get stuck after clicking something in the taskbar. Today I found QAP, or rather my settings, are the culprit.
Steps to reproduce:
- Have QAP configured with ~LButton & RButton (INI: NavigateOrLaunchHotkeyMouse=~LButton & RButton)
- Have QAP running...
- Open Command Prompt as Admin (Windows UAC say YES)
- Now click on your desktop or anywhere else, you see that your mouse button is stuck (it selects stuff)
- If you say NO on the UAC prompt, the problem won't happen.
I assume UAC is the problem. I assume other programs with UAC will have the same issue.
I attach a screenshot, I am not actually holding the mouse button at that time. (apologies for the dark background).
Any idea if this can be fixed, or if I need to train my old brain using another combination? (or buy a better mouse?)
By the way, your donation links are broken on the main web site (edit: I need new glasses and a new browser). I have a lifetime license but don't mind donating once in a while, get it working

I don't think it is related to UAC. I had the issue just by opening the QAP menu with ~LButton & RButton. But, from my limited tests, only if I click the left button before adding the right button. I don't think I can find a QAP solution against it. Try always clicking the left button before the right button.

I knew it was a very odd problem! Time to change then I guess.
If I remember correctly, it all started when I changed to the Logi MX Master 3S, which doesn't have a real middle mouse button (middle mouse click is pushing the scroll wheel).

The product description for the 'Logitech MX Master 3S' does include "Middle click" with its 7 buttons.
To maybe further troubleshoot the "~LButton & RButton" hotkey problem you're having you may consider completely disabling the hotkey within QAP and instead try a AutoHotkey script to bind the "~LButton & RButton" hotkey to activate a QAP menu via command-line option.

If you never worked with AutoHotkey before I could help more because you should be able to do a quick test with the portable version of AutoHotkey (AutoHotkey_1.1.37.02.zip) and create a shortcut to the script. -

First success: when I use AHK as in your example, it does seem the sticky mouse button doesn't happen any longer. I'll keep that for now and report back in a day or two to confirm.
The Logitech MX Master 3S does indeed have a middle mouse button, it's pressing the wheel down (I use it to show the desktop). There is another real button behind the wheel, the scroll-wheel mode switch button, which is not exposed to Windows or AHK, it toggles ratchet ↔ free-spin. My old MX Anywhere 3 mouse had it the other way around: real button was middle click, pressing mouse wheel was toggling between ratchet mode.... -

I do not have the same mouse than you : I have a "simple" M336/M337/M535
This mouse (quite old, I think it is no more on logitech's catalog) has, like yours, a physical button just behind the wheel.
And thanks to LogiOption software tool, you can assign this button to whichever key combination you want. I guess it's the same with your mouse.
Personnally, I have defined it as Ctrl+Middle clic, and I have (in QAP) associated this combination as QAP mouse button
As a result, this physical button (I didn't need elsewhere) is now my "QAP Menu buton", and I still have a "Middle button" available when needed, pressing down the wheel.
PS : Obviously, you can associate the button to whichever combination you want (you can also associate it to various actions, not necessarily a mouse click, like open a predefined Web Site), and associate the same combination to QAP. I just did the test to define it as Shift+Ctrl+Alt+Left button, and it works as well... : The idea is to use any key combination that is not used anywhere by any application, and reserve it to QAP -

Sadly with the MX Master 3S mouse this is not the case. It was the case with my older Logitech mice. The "scroll‑wheel mode switch button" (the button behind the wheel) is hardware only, its sole function is to toggle the mode of the wheel. It does not generate a HID button event. It's unfortunately the way it is, it was the first thing I tried when I got it in 2024... but I guess this is off topic. If you love that button and you ever buy a new Logitech mouse, better check first if that particular model allows using that button or not. The MX Master 3S doesn't.
N1ck's suggestion of using AHK for my usual button-combo and using AHK to open via QAPmessenger.exe seems to have solved my problem.

I'm a little bit surprised, because in the Web description of Logi Option + (https://www.logitech.com/fr-fr/software/...-plus.html) , the illustration shows a MX Master 3, and the "Shift wheel mode" button is shown as customizable...
I don't want to give you false hope.... but at your place, I would check once more this point. -

You are right. I just test-installed Logi Options+ and it lets me remap that button! Not sure if that was not supported when I tried a few years ago, or if I had a bad dream.
At one point I gave up on Options/Options+ (coming from Logi SetPoint) and moved on to AHK - solved all my problems (except the mysterious shift wheel mode button it seems). I am not sure if its worth installing Logitech's app just for that button, now that I got a working solution anyway. Options+ always felt like bloatware. -

Personnally, I'm not running Options+ but the "old" LogiOption. And this soft has clearly nothing that could "feel bloatware". Maybe Options+ is diffferent ?
If you have a working solution with AHK, everything's fine.
Even more if you have already some usage of the "shift wheel mode" button.
It's mainly because I didn't have any usage of it that I was happy to be able to assign it to QAP menu, rather than let it unused. -

Logi Options+ on my test notebook installed ~770MB today and wanted permission for location, network and other things. Certainly feels like bloat, just to change a mouse button.
