Hello,
In “Menu Advanced Options,” I have the option “Open menu when clicking on taskbar.”
I tried disabling and re-enabling it, but I still don't understand what it's for!
Can you explain me exactly what it does?

It determines whether or not a middle click on the taskbar opens the QAP menu. This option is enabled by default. For some reason, users have requested that this area be preserved from the middle mouse click. -

So, on my computer, clicking the middle button has no effect on QAP! Nothing happens! No problem, I do it differently anyway!

Normally, if you did not change the default settings, the middle button of the mouse opens the QAP menu. Check:

If it does not, there may be something special with your mouse setup. -

I have the same "issue" (not really a problem....) : Whatever the option “Open menu when clicking on taskbar.”, when clicking with the mouse button assigned to open the menu on the taskbar, it opens the menu. Even if the option is not checked.
I was wondering if it was because my setting was not to use, as in default settings, the middle button (but rather CTRL + Middle button). So I went back to the default setting ("pure" midlle button), ad even in this case, clicking n the task bar with middle button always opens the menu, whatever the option is checked or not....
Personnally I'm not at all annoyed with that, but it seems nevertheless there is a "bug", in the meaning "behaviour NOT as designed" -

I got it!
The issue is that QAP cannot distinguish the taskbar area on your screens. I just found that, if you have two monitors, the taskbar on the first one is internally named "Shell_TrayWnd" (class name). But if you have a second monitor, its taskbar class name is "Shell_SecondaryTrayWnd" and QAP (as it is now) does not recognize it. I don't know what if you have a third monitor. But to solve the issue, I'll check if the class name contains "Shell_ ... TrayWnd".
Please confirm if this issue is only on a non-primary monitor? -

Is there any way to generate a log file, in which we could see the class name of the window where the cursor is when clicking ?
Just onemore info : I tried to exclude some windows (I never did that before) thanks to "Popup Menu" / "Mouse trigger Blacklist", feeding with the process names (Firefox.exe, and Thunderbird.exe in my test) and it works. And if I add in this place "Shell_TrayWnd".... it works also, blocking the menu when clicking over the taskbar. -

I have a Logi MX Master mouse.
Without their software installed (too invasive).
That's probably the cause then! But it doesn't matter, I open the menu elsewhere with “special button 1” and I get what I want. In the end, I don't need this function on the taskbar, I just wanted to “know”!

I have two monitors... the problem is on both of them, unless it's my mouse that's the problem in the first place! -

You can use the button "Get window info" in "Options, Menu Inclusions/Exclusions". Follow the instructions. It will copy the info to your clipboard

Normally, the middle mous button can be used without any special software. You could try the button "Get window info" just to see if the middle-mous button works for this command. -

I did it, and the answer was that the task bar is : Shell_TrayWnd / Explorer.EXE
It's the reason why I tested, as I said, to add "Shell_TrayWnd" in "Mouse trigger Blacklist" , and (as I said) it works (and prevent Menu to appear when clicking in the task bar.)
But "a contrario", it makes even more strange that the box “Open menu when clicking on taskbar.” has no effect.... -

The taskbar issue on system having multiple monitors has been fixed in release v12.1. Thanks to LaurentG for his settings file.
