I'm using QAP 11.6.4.2.1 on Windows 11 Pro 24H2.
QAP was originally installed via the installer and upgraded several times since.
I have several menus that were originally created under user Steve. I want to share these menus with user Michael on the same machine.
With user Steve, I created a new shared menu called
Web Stuff Shared
On the shared menu tab, under Type of shared menu, I selected Collaborative
For Drive hosting, I selected Network Drive
On user Steve, I copied all of the entries from the original Menu called
Web Stuff to the new shared menu
Web Stuff Shared
Then selected the Hide option for the original menu item
Web Stuff
I logged in as user Michael and:
Add
Shared Menu
{Continue}
Clicked on the shared menu for
Web Stuff Shared
{Add selected shared menu(s)}
The problem is: on user Michael, while I can see and use the shared menu, most of the icons did not transfer over.
On user Steve:
Shared Menu - User Steve
On user Michael:
Shared Menu - User Michael
When I open the shared menu .ini file, the answer was pretty obvious: the icons that didn't transfer over are in network locations that user Michael didn't have access to, such as under C:\Users\steve
I see that in the location where my shared menus are stored (
C:\Users\Public\Documents\QAP Shared Menus), there is an icons sub-folder. However, that folder is empty.
I'd like to suggest adding a new feature: When adding items to a shared menu, the icons for those items be automatically stored in the icons sub-folder under the shared menu. In this case:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\QAP Shared Menus\icons
For now, I'm thinking of manually copying the icons from their various locations to
C:\Users\Public\Documents\QAP Shared Menus\icons and editing the .ini file for the shared menu to pint there. Or, is there an easier way?
