  If not, I would love to have a "Compact" Option. Either with Tiles or just smaller rows/icons.

  Yes. Using v10: in the "Customize" window, select the menu "Options, Menu Icons" and change the dropown "Menu icons size". You can even remove icons and keep only the menu labels.
  
  A compact options could not be done with the standard Windows menus I use.
