  Hi Jean (and others...)
  
  among other entries, I have in my menu an entry (as "live folder") to the content of %Appdata%, ie C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming.
  I'd like that this entry is displayed in the menu as %Appdata%.... but I'm unable to do so.
  If I enter in the corresponding field %Appdata%, the menu do not display this name... but rather the full name of the corresponding directory.
  
  I tried to "escape" the %, either "doubling" them (%%Appdata%%) or with a \ (\%Appdata\%), but none of these "solutions" work
  If I "double" the %, menu displays %C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming%
  If I "escape" them with a \, the menu displays \%Appdata\%
  
  Up to now, the "less worst" solution I've found is to insert spaces and name my entry % Appdata %
  
  Is there nevertheless a way of having as display %Appdata% without these spaces ?

  Hi Laurent, I found an article "Can I use system environment variables in favorite settings?" at

  and it talks about this but not how to have parenthesis in the name.
  
  A couple of suggestions:
  - Only put a space before the 2nd %:
     
  
  Put apostrophes before the %:
     
  
  Use back-ticks before the %:
     
  
  May one of those works until Jean comments.

  Thanks for your answer, Dale, but in the article you suggest, it's explained how to use a system environment variable... while my need is (at the contrary) to use a string that looks like a system environment variable, but remains as is and is not actually considered as a system environment variable by QAP....
  
  And about your 3 "temporary" suggestions, the first one is quite the same than the one I'm already using (only one space instead of two in my current way of doing...), but with the last 2 proposals, you can see that, since the entered string is no more exactly a system environment variable, it is actually no more "interpreted", but the added characters are also displayed in the resulting menu, that is not good...
  
  As you wrote, let's wait for Jean's comment ! (and I do the bet that the answer will be : not feasible right now, transfer question to "QAP Whishlist and suggestions". Do you bet ?)

  Not feasible right now but instead of transferring to the Wishlist, I would suggest to try another lookalike character from the Unicode charset. For example: ％ or ﹪. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percent_sign#Unicode

  yes, it works... but this remain a "tricky workaround", same level than adding a space....
  And of a pure "aesthetic" consideration, I find my workaround with spaces produces a more clean aspect...
  
  I nevertheless think it's worth adding an entry around this need in whishlist, since I'm convinced it would be quite easy to implement.
  Either defining an "escape character", or having the capability to enclose such parameters between "...." (or '....').
  By definition, this may concern only parameters that are supposed to be displayed. In particular, in "Edit favorite folder / Basic settings", this make sense for the "Short name for menu" field, but NOT for the "Folder (path)" field.
