  I would love to be able to activate QAP using one of the non-listed buttons on my Logitech mouse (MX-510). In addition to XButton 1 and XButton2, there are 2 buttons that share the 'scroll-up' and 'scroll-down' functions, but there is also another button on the top that I never use. It would be perfect for QAP.
  
  I wonder if one day we could set the hotkeys using a sort of 'listen' button, that records any button or combination of buttons.

  You could use AutoHotkey to assign one of the special buttons to a command triggering the QAP menu:

  Hi Jean, thanks for the reply. I had previously only gotten so far as installing AutoHotkey. I'll definitely check it out again and get a little further. My mouse is a Logitech MX-510. My MX-500 also has the same button layout. I wasn't sure if the button names in the .ini were defined by you or some system wide pool of variables. I found XButton1 and XButton2 mentioned in another controller mapping app, but I have no idea what the other buttons are generally called. I suppose they are less standard.
  
  I might also check out 'set-point' from Logitech and see if I can set macros there.

  XButton1 and XButton2 are names used in AutoHotkey. See https://www.autohotkey.com/docs/KeyList....se-general
  
  For other "custom" buttons, you will need to use one of these techniques: https://www.autohotkey.com/docs/KeyList.htm#SpecialKeys

  It is another possible solution. If you can launch a command-line (QAPmessenger.exe) from this macro.

  Hi,
  a (most likely...) very simple way of doing is the one I did with my own Logitech Mouse (which is a two buttons + roll + one supplementary button on the top) : I have assigned (thanks to Logitech driver) this supplementary button to "Ctrl + Middle button".... and assigned that in QAP as menu hotkey. And it works very well...
