Sometimes, the idea to edit a menu is while it's opened. It would be more userfreiendly with an option to edit this menu level directly avaibale rather than opening the edit dialog and digging into sublevels

Good idea. But I would make it an option because some users prefer to keep their menu as short as possible.

Yes, an option seems ideal. Also a nice option would be to customize the key to edit. As a french speaker I use "é" in my scripts, other people might want sth else
