Hi,
I hope you are having a nice holiday season and I'm wishing you the best for 2022. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the fight against this nasty virus will be over in the next year.
The last year has been a year of learning for me. In particular, I have learned that selling software is not as easy as it sounds. I thank the users who followed me in these turnarounds around selling Quick Access Popup. QAP is and will stay a free software again, with no limitations or incentives to donate. As said earlier, I will continue to maintain and improve QAP. I will also continue to provide user support to the best of my knowledge and availability. Of course, if you wish to help me with my operating costs (servers, certificates, etc.), donations are always welcomed.
QAP's 2021 year in review
In case you missed some of the improvements in QAP over the last twelve months, here are those that I'm most proud of:
- Add menu icons from any types of images (JPG, PNG, etc.)
- Custom icons size for each submenu
- Search and replace values (path, etc.) in all or selected favorites
- Special Searches allowing to clean-up favorites not found or broken links
- Drag and drop to move favorites position in a menu (thanks to Rodolfo U. Batista for his library)
- Screen scaling compatibility for owners of High-DPI screens
- Windows 10 Dark mode compatibility
- Launching options for individual member of favorites groups
Here are some of the improvements I plan to implement in the next months:
- Launching favorites or groups at QAP startup
- Launching a QAP favorite (with all its properties) from the command line, a batch file or a script
- An option to display group members in a submenu as an alternative to launching the whole group
- New option for Total Commander to open a folder in the target side of the window
- Some improvements to the date placeholders
- And more from user suggestions on the forum
I've been working on a new project in the last weeks and should be ready to release it soon. Its working title is Quick Access Clipboard. It allows you to manage rules that can change the content copied to the Clipboard: upper/lower case change, string manipulation, find and replace, etc. I'm particularly proud to give users knowing (or willing to learn) a bit of AutoHotkey scripting the power to execute any AHK code on the Clipboard content. This new app also includes an editor where you can see or edit and save the content of the Clipboard. Although the switch to a commercial version didn't go as planned (it is bloody hard to get that kind of thing up and running) your dedication to fixing bugs, listening to suggestions from users and implement them, and doing so very, very, very fast can not be underestimated.
Being an overall nice guy also helps.
So I would like to say thank you to YOU for your hard work with QAP.
I'm not sure, but did you do the changes to the uservars in 2021, or was it 2020?
The first two bullet points on the forecast makes me drool..... no pressure of course!

Yes user variables were improved in 2021. They were first introduced in 2018.

thanks for the ongoing improvements of QAP and all the best for 2022.
I hope your plan for
"New option for Total Commander to open a folder in the target side of the window"
inlcudes the target side for the TC Directory hotllist entries.
Currently this part of hotlist entries are ignored. -

@Horst: All the best in 2022 for you too. Oh, this item was buried a bit deep in the wishlist. It makes sense to work on the two suggestions together. I moved it to the In Progress section. I may need your help when I get there.
