  Hi Jean,
  
  I have some "Live" folders defined on a remote computer.
  If this computer is not "reachable", QAP live folders refresh takes.... very long time.
  
  Suggestion : Be able to define a Time-Out option when refreshing such live folders.
  
  We could then arbitrate between two "drawbacks"
  - either to miss some refreshes, in case access is longer than defined Time-out,
  - or to have QAP not available during long period of time, as it is the case right now (with "built-in" value of the time-out) when remote target is not there.
  
  If this time-out is reached, we could imagine two options
  - let the live folder with its current definition / subfolders list
  - or consider that this folder do not have any more any sub-folders
  
  My personal preference would be the first option.

  I don't know if it is possible but if a timeout was possible, it would be triggered by Windows, not QAP. After QAP asked to Windows the content of a folder, all it can do is to wait for an answer. This answer could eventually be a timeout error (or an empty result) but there is no way (no commands) that would allow QAP to "decide" itself to stop waiting for the Windows answer after a given time.
  
  I've work on a similar issue related to retrieving icons from files in the "Frequent" menus sitting on offline drives. This may not be related but (using v9.5.2), could you check if disabling (check off) this option changes something to this issue?

  I already did my own arbitration : remote folders are no more "live" folders...
  
  And, answer to your question : no impact of new option you mentioned (which is by default unchecked).
  I tested to check it, refresh the menus (long, long, long...) then to uncheck it, and rfresh again the menus : same duration...
