  I use OneDrive to synchronise my Documents structure between my desktop and laptop computers. In QAP Options the Options folder defaults to C:\Users\USERNAME\OneDrive\Documents\Quick Access Popup but since OneDrive documents are synchronised this has the unfortunate side effect of having two separate PCs independently updating a single cloud shared set of options.
  
  To address this issue I changed both Settings Folder and Main Settings File Backup Folder to %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Quick Access Popup. QAP copied my settings across and I deleted the original C:\Users\USERNAME\OneDrive\Documents\Quick Access Popup options folder. One remaining niggle is that QAP insists on changing %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Quick Access Popup to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Quick Access Popup in the Settings Folder option. Is there a reason for this? I think the generic naming approach makes more sense.
  
  Finally for this topic, are the targets for Settings Folder and Main Settings File Backup Folder meant to be the same?

  Regarding the settings path:
  I can only assume/guess (Jean has to confirm), but QAP need to resolve the OS variable?
  If you want to control/override where QAP reads/writes it settings you may check out this
  Can I set the QAP settings file location from the command line or a file shortcut?
  
  For backups:
  I use the same folder for the settings file and the backups, never had any problems with it.

  I reviewed my code. Supporting system variable in this specific case is too risky considering the various possible setup configurations (including backward compatibility issues).
  
  Would it work if you put your settings folder in locations outside your Documents folder? Locations not using system variables?

  They can be the same but some user prefer to save their backups under a different folder. This option was added for them.

  Jean, it is not a problem. More of an observation really and perhaps a warning/explanation to others who mirror their document structures via the cloud. My preference is to use variables, where possible but if it isn't then defining a hard coded alternative location is fine.
  
  Another simple alternative is to exclude the Quick Access Popup folder from being included in the OneDrive sync.

  That's true. And if there are favorites that you would like to use in both installations, you could use a Shared menu of type "Personal".

  To avoid sync problems I use the portable version, one "install"/folder pr machine that gets synced to the cloud.
  These are base installs.
  
  I have several Shared Menus (type Personal) in a separate synced folder.
  Zero problems with this method on 5 machines.
  
  I have 10 other with local "installs", they use a common file share for the shared menus.
  Also zero problems.
