WSCC
Go to the WSCC website,
WSCC, and download one of the packages.
I use the "WSCC 64-bit (Portable)", wscc_x64.zip.
I then manually extract it and copies the content to the following folder:
C:\WSCC64\
(Don't worry if you place it somewhere else, this can be adjusted in the User Variables in part 3).
Run the program: C:\WSCC64\wscc.exe
- In General - Options, check "Launch the 64-bit version if available", and click OK.
- In "New Sources Found", remove the check mark for "Windows" and "Misc. Tools" (or keep them, but they are outside the scope of this post), and click OK.
- Click Yes to enable the "Sysinternals Suite".
- In the Local Path box enter (without the quotes):"C:\WSCC64\SysInternals Suite"
- Click OK.
- Click Yes to enable the "NirSoft Utilties".
- In the Local Path box enter (without the quotes):"C:\WSCC64\NirSoft Utilities"
- Choose "Install the 64-bit version if available" from the drop-down "Install a single architecture, and click OK.
- Click Yes to enable the "MiTeC Utilties".
- In the Local Path box enter (without the quotes):"C:\WSCC64\MiTeC Utilities"
- Choose "Install the 64-bit version if available" from the drop-down "Install a single architecture, and click OK.
- WSCC lists around 330 tools, scroll down and remove the check mark for Adapter Watch, IEHistoryView and ProduKey.
- Click Install and Yes.
Get a coffee....
- Click Close (even if WSCC says that new software is available).
- Close WSCC (if you want).
The PAF menu
Go to the PortableApps.com website,
PAF, and download the latest "PortableApps.com Platform" installer.
Currently version 18.0.1.
Run the installer: PortableApps.com_Platform_Setup_18.0.1.paf.exe
- Choose installer language and click OK.
- Click Next.
- Click I Agree.
- Click Next (New Install is preselected).
- Click Next (Portable - install to a portable device is preselected).
- Click Next (Select a custom location... is preselected).
- Enter C:\PAF in Destination Folder, and click Next.
- Click Install.
- Click Finish (Run PortableApps.com Platform is preselected).
- Close the About window, the Portable App Directory pops up.
- Scroll down to Utilities and check "HWiNFO 32+64", and click Next.
- Click I Agree, and Finish.
- Close PAF (if you want).
HWiNFO is now installed under Utilities in the PAF menu.
(Don't worry if you place PAF somewhere else, this can be adjusted in the User Variables in part 3).
End of part 2.
