This release fixes 2 of the 3 bugs reported. Thanks Horst and CyberMCM.
I could not reproduce the bug related to QAPmessenger. In this release, I inserted debugging code in QAP. When QAPmessenger checks if QAP is running, QAP will display a popup message "QAP is running" for 2 seconds before launching the desired command. Let me know if you see this. I'll remove this test code in the next release.

NOTE: The donation approach has been changed in v10. The donor code (that was the same for all users) has been replaced with a personalized sponsor code that must match the user name displayed in the sponsor message at the bottom of the Settings window. NOTE for non-English users: text files has not been translated yet. I'll wait for your feedback before sending the files to translators. In the mean time, some text may be outdated in non-English languages.

I noticed that the settings window automatically pops up after startup (didn't happen before this version). Has to be disabled in Settings -> Settings Window

Yes. This is the desired behavior. This is opening by default to make it easier for new users to see how to edit the menu. -

Error on start-up is fixed
Live Folders settings of items in columns are now correct
The QAP Messenger now finds QAP
which shows "QAP is running" for a few seconds. -

I made a few more tests and found that I have problems with the Favorite "Repeat Last Actions"
Most of the items shown don't repeat for unknown reasons.
Most are URL Favorites which for themselves still start without problems
but not from Repeat Last Actions.
One is the entry Open QAP Working Directory from File menu in the Right click tray menu.
The only actions which successfully repeat are of type Application.
Now I found that the list of items is no longer updated at all, so the current entries are old.
After deleting an old database it works now without any database.
So I think all is fine again
But QAP should not use any old database if this is not enabled under Options / Database -

I was not able to reproduce the issue you describe with the "Repeat Last Actions" menu (this menu is not populated from the database but from the QAP usage in the current session only). However I found a few things to tweak there.
But if you were referring to "Frequent Folders/Files" or "Recent Folders/Files", I see that there is something wrong there. I'll look at it tomorrow.

Hello Jean,
in my case the entries in "Repeat Last Actions" even survived an QAP restart,
only deleting that old database made it working with the actual data.
I also use "Recent Folders/Files" both work fine.
The database is switched off as I never use "Frequent Folders/Files" -

I'm having a problem with Beta 9.9.2 in that I can't access the Settings menu item with my mouse or the Numeric menu shortcut. When I click on it or press the letter F (see attached screenshot), it launches the item below it. If I select the item above Settings, that item is selected correctly. Using Shift+Ctrl+Alt+S does bring it up.
I uninstalled Beta 9.9.2 and installed version Alpha 9.9.0.10 and it is working normally.

@Dale: Thanks for reporting this. The issue is probably not specific to the Settings menu item itself but maybe caused by another item before in the menu. It would help if you could send me your quickaccesspopup.ini by email?
@Horst: Still investigating the issue you reported. I can reproduce bugs with the Replat Last Actions menu but not consistently...

@Dale: The issue is caused by the disabled item you have in your menu above Settings. It shows in the menu when it should not. Bug noted. If you want to return to v9.9.2, you would have to enable this item until I fix it. Or you can wait for the fis, as you wish.
@Horst: Still working on this. I can reproduce with a brand new portable install that the "Repeat Last Actions" menu remains empty or is missing items. From my tests, it only happened in portable mode. But not always. I hate intermittent bugs... This is not related to using Total Commander as file manager since it also happened with Explorer. But I never saw the actions from the previous QAP session to reappear (I could not see how this would happen since the data for this menu starts empty at QAP startup). I'll take a break for now but will continue to dig it. -

I'm using v9.9.2.2 beta (64-bits) portable.
I don't remember changing the setting myself, but somehow Options>Settings Window>Open Settings Window at Startup got set.
I normally put my computer to sleep rather than shutting it down, so I don't need to start QAP often (since it's already running). But today I did restart my computer and noticed that QAP started by displaying the Settings. Upon checking the aforementioned setting, it was set.
Is this the default behavior? Frankly I don't remember if the was even an option with earlier versions of QAP.
I'm using v9.9.2.2 beta (64-bits) portable.
I have a Link (URL) entry that worked under previous versions of QAP, but is no longer functioning as expected. When I select it from a QAP submenu that I configured, a dialog appears with the following message:
An error occurred while trying to open this favorite. Please try again...
Same behavior if I try again.
The Link (URL) settings are as follows:
Basic Settings
Short name for menu: QAP Support Forum
Link (URL): https://forum.quickaccesspopup.com
Advanced Settings
Launch with this application: C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe
If I remove the Launch with this application setting, the Link (URL) functions as expected. (I did confirm that the path to chrome.exe did not change.) -

This is a new option. In the current release, it is enabled by default for all users. Not a good thing. I'll change it to enable it by default for new users but disabled for users upgrading.

I'm using v9.9.2.2 beta (64-bits) portable.
I've noticed inconsistent behavior with Recent Folders (RF) and Frequent Folders (FF). I think this issue existed before v9.9.2.2 beta, but I'm not certain the behavior is identical.
Today I did some systematic testing that might help you track down this bug:
- If QAP is started and a QAP submenu is launched using a Shortcut (e.g., I use Windows+Space to generate a submenu of folders) and that submenu includes an RF QAP Feature, and RF is selected by menu navigating the submenu, then the RF list IS NOT populated.
- If QAP is started and an RF QAP Feature is selected by menu navigating from the QAP main menu, the RF list IS populated. The key seems to be that the menu navigation started from the main menu. That is, even if I select the RF QAP Feature from the submenu mentioned in the previous bullet, the RF list IS populated.
- If QAP is started and any RF QAP Feature is opened using a Shortcut (e.g., Ctrl+Alt+R), the RF list IS populated.
- Once the RF list is populated using one of the methods listed above, all subsequent invocations of any RF QAP Feature, regardless of the mechanism (i.e., a Shortcut or selection from a QAP menu) and regardless of the RF QAP Feature location (i.e., the QAP main menu or a QAP submenu) results in A POPULATED RF list. (Note: I did not confirm that the RF list is populated with all of the most recent folders; I suspect maybe not. But I do know for certain that the RF list IS populated with some recent folders.)
- The above behavior is repeatable after exiting and restarting QAP.
Same observations for the FF list. -
