  This is a new beta test before releasing v10.5. It mostly includes improvements to the "Customize" window. Thanks for your help beta testing it.
  
  Version BETA: v10.4.9.1 (2020-05-10)
  - a new option to open automatically the most recently or most anciently created, modified or accessed subfolder of the favorite folder's location (in "Edit Favorite" dialog box, "Advanced Settings" tab)
  - a new option allowing to automatically sort favorites in the menu by name, by created or modified date and, if the QAP database is enabled, by last used date or by usage level (in "Edit Favorite" dialog box for menus or shared menus)
  - a new option to display additional columns modified date, created date, last used date and by usage level in favorites list (merging this with the similar option that existed for search results)
  - new "Sort" button in "Customize" dialog box opening a popup menu allowing to sort favorites currently displayed by any column; this does a manual sorting in regular submenus or change the sort criteria in automatically sorted menus
  - in the "Sort" menu, an entry allows to edit the currently menu (the same button already existed in search results)
  - in "Sort" menu, an additional entry to access the "Customize Window" options
  - new JLicon.DLL icon file v1.6 with icons to display the current sort criteria in sort popup menu
  - in Options, move the "Show QAP menu" option from "Customize Window" to "Menu Advanced Options" section
  - removed feature: starting number in shared menu files is not supported starting with v10.4.1 (this option was deprecated since v8.1.9.1)

  I don't see any changed behaviour if I access a favorite with this new option set

  Is the database (which I have disabled) necessary for this ?

  No, the database is not involved in this. Add or edit a favorite of type "Folder" and see the "Advanced Settings" tab (last tab).

  Thats what I did.
  But whatever I set in this settings I don't see any changed behaviour if I open such a folder
  with the pop-up menu.
  What should happen using it ?

  There are many subfolders in this Live folder favorite location.
  I tried it with most recently modified / accessed
  Open the favorite just shows the list of subfolders as usual.
  Please note that I don't include documents in this Live folder favorite.

  Oh! I did not intend this option for Live folders. Try it in a non-Live folder.
  
  I could add code to support the feature in Live folders too but this seems going against the idea of generating a Live folder. Maybe I should just block the feature when in a Live folder.

  Ok, in a normal folder favorite it works.
  
  Most of my folder favorites are Live folders.
  I don't see why it shouldn't be used in a Live folder favorite.
  For other targets I have the Total Commander hot-dirs.
  
  So if its not supported it should be disabled in Live folder favorites.

  - open the most recent folder (let's take this example) in this folder *instead* of opening the live folder menu
  - open the live folder menu and, if the user selects a folder inside this live folder menu, open the most recently created folder in that folder

  I prefer
  - open the most recent folder in this folder *instead* of opening the live folder menu
  but there should be some hotkey or modfier to control this behaviour

  In some ways, it seems to be contradictory to create a "Live Folder", then select the option "Auto-open" that disable the previous one (or vice-versa). This is why I think I will code it to be one or the other.  Thanks for raising this issue.
