For no reason, QAP started becoming less responsive to the middle mouse button click.
I used to just short-click the middle mouse button and QAP would open.
Now it only opens if I either click and hold the middle mouse button (long-click) or if I short-click 5-6 times.
I restarted the computer but it didn't help.
Suggestions?

Hi,
a few weeks ago, I got an issue of responsiveness. Not exactly similar to what you describe (for me, the time between click and menu opening was sometimes very long), but maybe cause could be similar ?
In my case, it was clearly due to an issue with the Frequent/Recent files/folders database, which was most likely corrupted.
I have then
- stopped QAP
- deleted the database itself (C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Quick Access Popup\QAP_Frequent.DB) (let me suggest you to keep a backup of it in case its removing does not solve your issue)
- restarted QAP

and it worked fine again (and it is still the case since....)

If you don't use Frequent files / folders at all just switch off the Database completly as I did.

The folder "Quick Access Popup" does not exist in AppData (both roaming or local).
The QAP_Frequent.DB file on my system is in this folder: C:\Users\[user-name]\Documents\Quick Access Popup

I use it all the time.
I will try to flush the database from the database settings window.
If it doesn't work I will also try to turn off the database.
If that doesn't work I will do a more extensive search to find the DB file.

Update:

Flushing database and then deleting the DB file (to have QAP recreate it on startup) helped a lot.
It still misses a beat every now and then (which it never did previously) but I can live with that.

Where the database stands is parametered in QAP's options in Option/General : Settings folder
AFAIK, its initial settings depends on how you installed QAP. Since yours is in Documents, I guess you didn't use the installer, but directely un-zipped the downloadable zip file, isn't it ?

Nevertheless, what is important is not where the database resides, nor to "search for it", but to act on the database used by QAP, ie. the one stored in the "Settings folder" defined in QAP's options.

I donated $30 and got a link to download and install. Don't remember if it was a zip or exe.

I wasn't going to update any further but the issue got worse in the past few hours.
I'm starting to suspect something in my own system.
I'll investigate further some other time.

UPDATE:

I woke up this morning and QAP stopped working completely. (computer was not restarted)
The customize menu works fine. Just the middle mouse does nothing anymore.

Installed the latest version (10.3.2) and restarted the computer. Still doesn't work.

I need some advice, please.

UPDATE:

When I change the menu popup shortcut from the middle mouse button to say, ctrl-right-click, it works flawlessly!
So I'm now suspecting an issue with my middle mouse button (although the middle mouse button works fine in other software).
I use a Razer DeathAdder 2013 mouse.
I'll update the drivers and report back.

Updating driver didn't help.

MButton::MsgBox You Pressed the Middle Button on your mouse.

No message box pops up unless I press very hard on the middle mouse button. So now I'm sure it's a mouse issue.

I'll investigate and update.

QAP is less bulky now, by disabling the database.
