Full Version: Starting QAP from registry - write error

Hello, Jean.
I'm a Chinese user. I like this great software for the first time today.
But I also encountered the same problem mentioned in this article: read-only error.

Statement:
1) I use the portable version; the software is placed under the directory D: \ soft \ qap10.
2) I have full control over this directory

After my test, the error is as follows:
1) if I add the program path, such as D: \ soft \ app \ qapv10 \ quickaccesspopup-64-bit.exe, to the following of HKEY \ local machine \ software \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon \ userinit, for example:

C: \ windows \ system32 \ userinit.exe, D: \ soft \ app \ qapv10 \ quickaccesspopup-64-bit.exe.

In this way, the readonly error will be prompted after restarting the system. (there is no problem with this operation. I've tried other App that can run normally. It also involves file reading and writing operations, such as DirectFolder.)

2) if I add the program as a run startup key to the registry: HKEY \ current \ user \ software \ Microsoft \ windows \ CurrentVersion \ run, this error will also occur when I restart the system. (I have tested this operation with other programs, and there is no problem with the operation method itself.)

3) only if the shortcut is placed at the location of C: \ users \ myname \ appdata \ roaming \ Microsoft \ windows \ start menu \ programs \ startup, the system will restart normally and readonly error will not be prompted.

4) the reason why I want to put this in the registry is that the priority of windows program startup is: Services > userinit > Run > startup. There will be a little delay when I put it on the system desktop later.

My English is also very poor. This passage is machine translated. I hope my description can make you understand.

If it can be set to start in the registry, QAP will be ready after entering the desktop, and the experience will be more perfect.

Salute

Hi Laoyao,

I'll try to reproduce the issue you described very clearly.

I'll move your post to a new thread for better tracking.

Thanks,

Jean

Hi Laoyao,

The issue is that launching QAP this way does not tell QAP what folder to use as "Working folder" (maybe, using a default value, it tries to create its working folder in C:\Windows or an another restricted folder). If you add the /Working: parameter, this will work.

C:\windows\system32\userinit.exe, D:\soft\app\qapv10\quickaccesspopup-64-bit.exe /WorkingBig Grin:\soft\app\qapv10\

You will not need it in this example but enclose "/Working:..." with double-quotes if your path includes spaces.

Hello Jean,
is there a description of all Command line arguments for QAP ?
Hi Horst,

This was missing. I added it:

Great! That's exactly what it is. the DF's setting files is saved in the \AppData\Roaming Folder.maybe this is the diffirent. But I Like this more~

now when the desktop show,QAP is working already. Wonderful! that's just what i want!

thank U,Jean!
